Who Is Mikey Bee?

My name is Mike and I’m an actor based in West London.

Well, when I say I’m an actor what I really mean is that I’m a guy sitting by the phone waiting for his agent to ring.

As a result of all this sitting around, I spend a ridiculous amount of time online. Probably more than is strictly healthy. That’s nothing new, though. I’ve been online since the mid 90’s and publishing stuff on t’internet ever since.

The reason for starting this blog is because I didn’t really have anywhere to just write “stuff”. Most of the other places I write are focused on very specific topics and I was finding myself getting a bit frustrated that I couldn’t just write about whatever the heck I wanted so decided to start up MikeyBee.com.

Why Mikey Bee?

It’s a nickname I’ve had since school and I wanted to make a clear distinction between online Mike and offline Mike. We’re very different people, don’t you know?

What Are You Doing In That Photo?

I can’t be overly sure. It was taken on location filming Stag Night of the Dead and I’m either cupping a cigarette from the wind or I’m calling someone a wanker. Or both.

What’s The Blog About?

At the moment the plan is to write about stuff that interests me - films, web stuff, acting, technology - but who knows where we’ll end up? All the top bloggers reckon you should be laser focused on your content but I say nuts to that. It’ll be a bit like my Twitter feed only with more than 140 characters.

You can read the stuff I write about online marketing, search and blogging on my other site Twenty Steps. I was going to call it a sister site but it’s more of a hermaphrodite half cousin site. Likewise if you’re into cricket you can always catch my random outbursts on Flintoffs Ashes.
